P.L.A.Y.  Play and Learning Activities for Young Children offers preschool age children a program where  they can work on developmental skills such as coordination, communication, self-help skills, socialization, visual-motor skills, cognition and more.  The program is guided by our occupational therapy staff and takes place two mornings a week.

Piedra Learning Community, PLC, is our alternative school for Kindergarten  through 3rd grade.  Our certified teachers and occupational therapy staff create a safe, caring and supportive community that supports the unique learning style and needs of each and every student.  We keep our class sizes small to facilitate individual attention and instruction and work to create a community in the classroom.  Attention is paid to individual needs for seating, pencil grasp, approaches and strategies for instruction, needs for movement and breaks and special diets. Educational strategies combined with practical life skills offers students a hands-on approach to learning.  Occupational therapy support in the classroom includes assessment for special learning needs and direct services to help students reach their highest potential.

Elementary school children in the community with challenges in learning and development can benefit from  our after school group, S.K.I.L.L.S., or School Kids in Listening and Learning Sessions.  This after school group offers work in sensory integration, listening therapy, vision therapy and other therapeutic activities, guided by our occupational therapy staff.

Summer Reading, Writing and Rhythm Progam is an eight week program offering children preschool through ten years an opportunity to engage in art, music, reading, writing, outdoor and indoor games and sensory integration activities.  Children who are 10 years and who have been in the program previously may be invited to participate in our “Expedition Program” where children actively engage in planning, budgeting and scheduling trips out in the community.
