It’s back to school time!  We will be having an Open House on Monday, August 22 from 4 to 6 pm here at Skills.  This Open House is for everyone…… if you have registered your child for Piedra Learning Community, our alternative school, please come and we will have a short meeting at 5:30 to answer any questions you may still have and to get a little oriented.  For those of you who are still considering having your child attend, this is a great opportunity to look, discuss and ask questions.  And for those of you who just want to come and have some fun, come on down!  Bring the kids, we will have things for them to enjoy!!

The second half of our summer program is going full steam ahead as the kids learn about Route 66. This week we are happy to have a church group of high school kids from Mansfield, TX here to help us all week. They are GREAT!!!

WeeCycle will be hosting an upcoming Back-to-School ConsignmentSale in Bayfield! The event will take place on Saturday, August 13th from 8am-4pm at the Old Mid School Gym on South St. Come out for some great deals and get the kids ready for school!  For more info, visit www.weecycledurango.com.

With the fundamental shift in the way we communicate; Skills for Living and Learning now has a facebook page!  Join and “Like” us to recieve timely updates on our programs and fundraisers we have going on.

The second half of our summer program begins this week!  More fun = More learning!  Thank you to all the families that make our summer programs so sucessful.  We had a record number of students enroll in the program this year!  Please note we are now taking applications for Piedra Learning Community, our K-3 school, which will begin after Labor Day.  Let us know if you are interested, have questions or want more information!

Spring Has Sprung

Our regular programs are closed the week of March 28-April 1 for spring break. We will be open on Tuesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 31 of that week from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for all kidsage 5 and up. We will have activities all day long, including Gorilla Room, art, vision therapy and other fun stuff.  If you plan to have your child stay all day, please send a lunch.  We will provide morning and afternoon snacks.  Kids who have attended any of our programs and are age 5 years and older are welcome to attend.
